Discussion: Wait On God

Bible study on waiting on God and learning to be patient during that time.

Over the years I have learned the importance of being patient waiting on God for my breakthrough. While praying and fasting I begin to see results through building a closer relationship with God along with growing in his word. It took time for me to fully understand how to wait while being content in that particular season.

God has appointed time to answer our prayers in the right season. It is all about praising him in the good and bad times, in the midst of the storms of life and during the best time of your life. We have to learn to always praise and glorify God no matter what is happening in our personal lives. In my blog "Waiting on God" I discussed how people in the Bible such as: Sarah and Hannah had to pray fervently in their barrenness to be blessed with a child of their own. For example, Sarah was in her old age and she thought it was all over for her to get pregnant and birth a child.

Here are two scripture to explain how Sarah reacted:

Sarah became pregnant and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the very time God had promised him. Genesis 21:2

Abraham fell face down; he laughed and said to himself, "Will a son be born to a man a hundred years old? Will Sarah bear a child at the age of ninety?" Genesis 17:17

This explains how God will bless you with a breakthrough and answer your prayers in the right season. People will not always believe or comprehend the ways of God but as believers applying our faith and trusting him makes us to understand his word clearly. "For with God nothing shall be impossible." Luke 1:37

On the other hand, Hannah was a praying woman who demonstrated confidence and boldness in her prayers.

“My heart rejoices in the Lord; in the Lord my horn is lifted high. My mouth boasts over my enemies, for I delight in your deliverance." 1 Samuel 2:1

Hannah remained a righteous woman of prayer even in her wait before she was blessed with her son Samuel. Sarah and Abraham fulfilled the promise by having their son Isaac. Both Sarah and Hannah was the epitome of Christian women who stayed faithful to God in their long wait to become mothers. They might have experienced different emotions during the wait but it did not stop them from worshipping God and praying to him.

What breakthroughs are you waiting on God for at this present time in your life? Are you patient during the waiting period? Comment below.
